2.0.0¶
Released 2026-10-31 for amd64, arm64 and armhf. The first release on the signed KinuxOTA apt repository.
Devices with an older agent must be reinstalled once: see Devices from before 2.0.0: reinstall once. From 2.0.0 on, every agent can update itself to any later version.
Install and update through apt
- One
.debper architecture:amd64,arm64andarmhf(ARMv7 and newer). Supported: Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04, 26.04, Debian 12, 13 and Raspberry Pi OS 12, 13. ARMv6 boards (Raspberry Pi 1, Pi Zero, Pi Zero W) are refused with a message. - The package ships the repository key (
/usr/share/keyrings/kinuxota.gpg) and writes/etc/apt/sources.list.d/kinuxota.sourceswhen it is missing. Removing the package removes the repository too;apt purgealso deletes the enrollment. - The one-line installer
https://www.kinuxota.com/install.shchecks the system, adds the repository, installs and enrolls. - Update agent in the dashboard and
sudo kinuxota update [--version X.Y.Z]install through apt from the KinuxOTA repository only. The GitHub download path is gone.
Version and platform
- The agent sends its version with every request to the server. When the service requires a newer version, the agent updates itself through apt (at most once an hour) and keeps its unsent results.
- The agent reports its operating system, version and architecture. The dashboard shows them as the
device's Platform (for example
Ubuntu 22.04 · amd64).
Fixes
armhf: the agent is built with 64-bit file offsets, so its outbox (the results it has not sent yet) is read back correctly after a restart on every file system.
